Nice. I’m still trying to decide which species to use having a range from a small Hummingbird to thousands of Snow Geese.
You can always post more than one species – there are 22 days left of the challenge. π
Fabulous shot Hannah.
Thanks, Su. It’s amazing to me just how *huge* the pelican’s wing span is!
Fabulous shot indeed, Hannah!!
Thank you Sarah. The Grey Pelicans make for unique photography.
They definitely know how to model in front of a camera! π
Unless they are flying – then they are always out of focus. At least at my skill level. Maybe some day……..
You can use that practical sport modus on your camera, that way you can catch them in flight, at least sometimes. π Or increase shutter speed.
I was using the sport mode. Think how blurry the Pelican would have been I hadnβt. π
Although a close friend told me yesterday that she thought the blurring of the pelican was what turned the photo into an art piece. Her opinion was that if the pelican had been in focus the photo would have been good rather than remarkable. She used to be a photographer so I listened. That made me look at the photo in a while new way. π
That’s really good advice, and blurryness definitely adds that arty touch. π
Thank you. I’m now thinking of doing a print of it and seeing how it comes out. Maybe 10×10 to start with.
Oh yes! I’m all for having prints done! Let me know how it turns out and if you like it! π Just had a conversation with someone who knows a bit about this stuff and he said that the bigger you want the pic to be the LESS dots per inch (dip) you have to use – which is exactly the opposite of what I was thinking! π
Huh. Who would have guessed that?????
I know, right? π
I just checked the setting on the photo – I was not on sport mode! I thought I had taken this photo with my old Nikon. I hadn’t. I took it with my new OM-D camera, and on the new camera, I haven’t found the sport mode yet. π
Hehe! Good luck finding it on your new camera! π
Iβm taking a 4 hour Olympus class at our local photography store on the 25th. Itβs taught by an Olympus rep so after 4 hours I should know where it is. π
Wishing you lots of fun!! Don’t forget to take notes! π
Thanks, I will! π
